Rebellion Muay Thai is happy to announce our latest sponsor, DPS Plastering. The company, owned by Daniel Stroud, services the Geelong area of Australia.
DPS Plastering works on a variety of projects. They work on Gyprock plastering, Venetian plastering, working with suspended ceilings and more. The company creates stronger walls with smooth surfaces. They are one of the few companies to specialize in Venetian plastering in the area.
The Surf Coast native’s values match up with Rebellion's. Both DPS Plastering and Rebellion emphasize quality, professionalism, and doing beautiful work.
DPS Plastering started in 2016. Stroud took up the work of plastering. He went through a four year apprenticeship. Then he spent three years refining his craft.
“I registered as a company three years ago,” Stroud said. He now has 25 employees and is continuing to expand.
As he built his business, Stroud built his skills in the ring. He is a former professional athlete under Pat Richards. Richards fought on Rebellion in 2018.
“I went professional under Pat Richards when he had a gym. Then I started training with Steve Moxon after that,” Stroud said.
The early experience with Rebellion as a fan cemented a love for the sport. Stroud now trains out of Bones MMA in Torquay, a neighboring town to Geelong along the coast. It was the quality of Rebellion that made Stroud want to support the show.
“I find the professionalism of what Sy Nadji does as appealing,” Stroud said. “I like the awards he is giving out to.”
Because of the sponsorship of DPS Plastering Rebellion now has several awards. For example, there is the Jordan Coe Award. The honor, with a cash prize, goes to fighters that display excellent showmanship.
Most recently Alfie Smith picked up the prize. Smith fought at Rebellion XXVIII against Tim Nguyen.
“He was pretty impressive,” Stroud said.
Rebellion is excited for the continued support of DPS Plastering.
